TAN FAQ

What do I need to do prior to my spray tan?

Exfoliate 24 hours prior or day of your spray tan with a basic exfoliating glove or towel. Also, stay away from any heavy exfoliating oils creamy body washes. After showering DO NOT apply oil based lotions, oils, or perfumes.

Shaving should be done 12 -24 hours before your spray tan if you shave. Streaks may be an issue in your final tan if you shave right before due to the wax from the shaving bar.

Manicures, pedicures, and waxing should all be done prior to your spray tan.

Make sure to bring dark loose fitting clothes with you for after your spray tan.

Do not use any creamy or oily exfoliants or cleansers when doing this it is best to cleanse ur body w light water based soap and then exfoliate with an exfoliating towel or glove with nothing but water so you don’t create any barriers between your skin and the solution.

Time to rinse, what do I do?

Absolutely NO soap.

A really slow rinse with luke-warm water in shower is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer, and focus your attention to your legs, behind your arms, etc. the creases of your body
The #1 cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days.

When can I apply lotion?

Wait 12 hours AFTER your initial rinse before applying any kind of lotion. CeraVe is great favorite if you don’t have a blushtan moisturizing lotion. Moisturizing is the key to prolong your spray tan so moisturizing twice daily will give you the best results. It’s also important to stay hydrated and drink lots of water throughout the day.

Can I still tan outside with a spray tan?

Yes! The most important thing to remember is that the solution does not contain any UV protection/sunscreen. You will still be able to develop a tan naturally in the sun.

Will jacuzzis, pools, or saunas remove my tan?

Yes, it will remove majority of the tan and/or lighten it. Seawater, chlorine, and hot tubs can accelerate the fading of the tan. I recommend wearing waterproof sunscreen to help repel the water.

How soon after my spray tanning session can I work out?

Please wait 16 - 24 hours and we recommend additionally rinsing off prior to working out. This will wash away any remaining bronzer – which is the cosmetic portion of your spray tan.

IMPORTANT DAY OF REMINDERS:

No lotions or oils on your skin before your spray tan. If you’re dry and you’re exfoliating etc the night before please put lotion on the night before that’s fine just please remember to rinse off in the morning before you come.

Please DO NOT put deodorant on, this creates a barrier. Especially avoid all oil-based or acid-based deodorants. Deodorants with oil and acids can cause tan to strip off the color. Please avoid. **We recommend only "old-school" white stick deodorant like Dove for 2 days leading up to your tan as well as for the duration of your tan.

No makeup or anything on your face if your coming from work  just remember to use the wipes to remove all your make up if your spraying your face.

You want to have loose dark clothing to wear after your spray :)

Everyone’s skin is different and the DHA reacts differently for everyone it is best to always do a trial we do not recommend getting a spray tan for the very first time for a major event. A trial tan is vital :)
